Elastic and Microsoft - Dubai

In the wonderful city of Dubai, Elastic alongside Microsoft hosted a number of financial services leaders at one of the cities best restaurants, Sexyfish, to discuss AI Driven Banking at Scale: Why Data Is the Foundation!

The evening started in the private Sekushi Room with great views of the city for a networking hour filled with drinks, canapés and conversations as everyone got to meet.

Everyone then took to their seat to hear a fantastic fireside chat between Oliver Oursin & Stefan Honstetter from Elastic & Mark Henry from Microsoft. Thank you so much to the two speakers.

After questions from the crowd the discussions then carried on over a fantastic multi-course dinner where the discussion points included:

  • How are we currently approaching data across multiple siloed systems and siloed ownership - and what's the one structural change that we think would unlock the most value?

  • Proprietary research shows that 68% of data is underutilised in financial services. In our opinions, what are we finding that the biggest challenge with data? Is it finding the right data, getting access to it quickly enough, knowing that it's trustworthy when you do or something else? How are we planning to tackle these challenges?

  • Over the next 18 months, what do we see as the AI use case or cases that hold the greatest potential for the transformation of our organizations going forward? What critical technological or architectural bottleneck(s) exist today that must be resolved in order to achieve this and what do we think is just hype?

After dessert some post dinner conversations and networking took place before everyone headed home!

Increase Group would like to extend a thank you to everyone who attended and made it a great evening but a special thank you to everyone from Elastic & Microsoft for being the best hosts we could have asked for.

A special thank you to Chris W. & Amanda W from Increase Group for helping run & host the event.
